Match report: Hull FC 0-7 Widnes Vikings

In a nutshell
It was a low-scoring affair, but Widnes won for the first time at the KC Stadium thanks to a try and a goal from Patrick Ah Van, and a Tom Gilmore drop-goal. Errors and penalties were aplenty due to the poor conditions.

How it unfolded
First half: Nightmare start from Hull – Jordan Rankin knocks on returning the kick-off and Patrick Ah Van scores straight away, but that’s the only four-pointer of a slow first half; HT: 0-4.

Second half: The second half continued where the first left off and there is little to bring you in terms of scoring, only a Patrick Ah Van penalty in the 65th minute; young half-back Tom Gilmore added a drop-goal with just minutes remaining to put the Airlie Birds two scores behind; FT: 0-7.
