Match report: St Helens 40-22 Catalan Dragons

In a nutshell

How it unfolded
First half: The Saints dominated the majority of the first, and tries from Josh Jones and Tommy Makinson quickly out them 12-0 up. Makinson grabbed another soon after, before Jordan Turner scored a fourth for the Saints. The Dragons rallied though, and Garcia and Pellisier tries made it 24-12 at the break.

Second half: Luke Walsh left the field at the break due to injury, but that didn’t stop Saints, as Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook went over for another score. However, Michael Oldfield made it 30-18 to being the clash alive again. That didn’t last long though as a Lance Hohaia quickly restored a strong lead for the home side.

Another Catalan try pulled the deficit back again, but the back and forth nature of the second period continued when Adam Swift dashed over to make it 40-22 at the final hooter.
