Australian media are reporting that the new Kangaroos coach has finally been appointed, with Mal Meninga now set to be unveiled as Tim Sheens’ replacement.
News Corp in Australia have reported that Meninga has now left his post as Queensland coach, with Meninga now set to step up and take charge of the Kangaroos ahead of next year’s international programme.
It is reported by News Corp that “the parties are in final stages of negotiating financial terms”, but Meninga could be unveiled as soon as Thursday, with a press conference believed to be scheduled to unveil Meninga.
Queensland had offered Meninga a fresh three-year extension but it seems he’s now set to move on to a new role, and take charge of the national team with whom he represented as a player in time for next year’s Four Nations.
