Mickael Goudemand makes Catalans Dragons return

CATALANS DRAGONS have secured the return of French international back-rower Mickael Goudemand following a spell in Australia.

The 30-year-old made 99 appearances for Catalans between 2018 and 2023.

After a year with Leeds Rhinos, he returned to France to help Albi win the Super XIII domestic title.

Goudemand moved down under last June, initially signing with local league club Junee Diesels before signing with Newcastle Knights’ reserves team ahead of this year.

He played twice in the New South Wales Cup but has recently been sidelined by an injury.

His deal with Catalans, whom he helped to the League Leaders’ Shield in 2021 and played for in their Grand Final defeat that year, is only until the end of this season.

“I am very happy to be returning to the Catalans Dragons, the club where I had the opportunity to make my Super League debut and experience some incredible moments,” said Goudemand, who came through the ranks at Avignon and has 15 France caps.

“Three years ago, I decided to leave to discover new experiences, take on new challenges, and continue to grow both as a player and as a person.

“For now, the most important thing is to complete my rehabilitation successfully and get back to 100 percent fitness.

“I can’t wait to see the supporters again and give everything I have for this jersey.”
