Morgan Gannon to reunite with Leeds Rhinos

MORGAN GANNON will return to Leeds Rhinos from 2027 on a three-year deal.

Gannon made 73 appearances for the club before leaving at the end of last season to join NRL side New Zealand Warriors.

However, the 22-year-old has made just one appearance for the Warriors during the 2026 NRL campaign and five with the club’s reserves.

Leeds’ sporting director Ian Blease said: “We are delighted to be bringing Morgan back home to the Rhinos.

“We were clear when he left that we had worked hard to persuade him to stay at AMT Headingley and we are looking forward to having him back in 2027.

“I would like to thank the New Zealand Warriors for the way they have handled the situation and I am sure Morgan will return having developed even more from his time with the Warriors.”

Gannon added: “I am looking forward to being back at the Rhinos in 2027.

“I am grateful for the opportunity I have had with the Warriors this year and I am looking forward to helping the squad for the remainder of this season.

“I know the Rhinos are going well this season and I wish them all the best for the rest of this campaign.”

Gannon only lasted five minutes of his NRL debut against Newcastle Knights in March before suffering a head injury.

The backrower had numerous concussion issues during his time with the Rhinos, even sitting out a full season in 2024.
