New contract for Caro at Bradford

Omari Caro has signed a new one-year deal with Bradford Bulls, committing him to the club until at least the end of next season.

Caro, 24, joined the club in July on a short-term contract and has impressed Bulls boss James Lowes, scoring five tries in six appearances.

Caro, who comes from the London borough of Hammersmith, is delighted to be extending his Provident Stadium stay.

“I am thrilled to be staying because I have really enjoyed my time here so far,” said Caro, who is sponsored by Jennifer Bennison.

“Things are going very well for me and I am improving with every minute on the pitch.

“We are aiming to achieve promotion this year and that is still very much at the top of every players’ agenda.

“But if we miss out then hopefully we will be able to come back bigger and stronger next season, having gained 12 months of experience at this level.

“On a personal level, I know I will be better for a full pre-season training camp. Before coming to Bradford, I had not played a game for the best part of ten months, which is a huge amount of time for any professional sportsman.

“Furthermore, with Oscar Thomas coming up here next term, I will have another member of the squad who I am familiar with and that will help us both settle in really well – and quickly.

Coach Lowes is equally pleased to have secured the Jamaican international’s services for a further 12 months.

“Omari’s new contract is just reward for several weeks of hard endeavour and the fact that he has come in and scored tries, which is what we wanted him to do,” he added.

“He came here on a short-term basis, but has worked well to earn a new contract in the days running up to a game I know he is looking forward to.”
