NEW Wakefield Trinity signing Mason Teague has been included in Cook Islands’ 23-man World Cup squad.
Teague, who played eight times for the Dolphins in three seasons, has been plying his trade with Burleigh Bears but signed for Wakefield ahead of the 2027 Super League season to replace the outgoing Tyson Smoothy.
Teague isn’t the only Super League representative in the Aitu squad, with Toulouse Olympique duo Reubenn Rennie and Paul Ulberg and Bradford Bulls’ Esan Marsters also called up.
There is also a familiar name for Hull KR supporters in Brad Takairangi, who made 24 appearances for the East Yorkshire club in 2021 and 2022.
The Cook Islands begin their World Cup campaign against Fiji, before facing New Zealand and Australia across the pool stage.
