Warrington Wolves boss Tony Smith insists it’s vital there is not too much pressure heaped on marquee signing Daryl Clark, ahead of his debut for the club this Sunday.
Clark has been named in the Warrington squad to face Hull KR this Sunday, which will be his first appearance for the club following a high-profile, six-figure transfer from Castleford Tigers.
And despite the obvious hype surrounding his debut, Smith says it will take time for Clark to get accustomed to how the Wolves play.
“It’s like he’s been there for ages, he’s a mature young guy and when you work with him you can understand why he’s got all the accolades he has in recent times,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to it but we also need to give him time to form combinations with the players, not put too much pressure on him as well.
“He’s a quality player, he trains well and he’s fitted in exceptionally well.”
