Norman field goal wins second consecutive game for the Dragons

For a second consecutive game Corey Norman’s field goal won the game for St George Illawarra Dragons’, this time against Newcastle Knights, 13-12

After kicking the Dragons to victory over the Broncos last week, the standoff did it again but in golden point in Newcastle.

After Tim Lafai had given the Dragons the lead with a penalty, Kalyn Ponga threw the perfect cut-out pass to Edrick Lee on the left wing for the first try of the game for the Knights. But the Dragons regained the lead when the returning Tyson Frizell stole the ball from Mitchell Pearce and dived over from close range.

More Ponga brilliance handed the lead back to the Knights when he found the spare man in Hymel Hunt. But after the break, the Knights looked shaky in defence and were made to pay by Mikaele Ravalawa’s try off Matt Dufty’s long pass.

A Ponga penalty levelled the game up when Tariq Sims hit Mitchell Pearce late after a kick. Eight minutes of golden point passed before Norman sealed the win for the Dragons.
