Planning permission to develop Oldham’s Whitebank stadium has been approved, the club has confirmed.
The Championship club played their matches at Bower Fold this year and will continue to do so next season as developments of their ground continue.
However, the club will still be able to train at their own facility and use the office space allocated at the ground while developments take place.
Club chairman Chris Hamilton said: “This is an exciting opportunity to upgrade facilities in an area where we know they will be used.
“While the playing of competitive matches at Whitebank is still subject to the ground meeting minimum Rugby Football League standards, the work to be carried out shortly, which will include levelling of the playing surface and the installation of a new 3G artificial pitch, is a major step forward and one we are delighted to be a part of.”
