Stefan Marsh admitted that he considers Widnes as his home after signing a new deal with the club.
The outside back signed a two-year extension with the club last week that will keep him at the club until the end of 2018.
Marsh is one of several players to agree to a new deal, with the likes of Rhys Hanbury, Charly Runciman and Joe Mellor also signing new deals.
Widnes’ retention of their stars is a huge boost to their long-term ambitions, and Marsh believes that the feel-good vibe in effect under Denis Betts is a major factor in players committing to the club.
“I love going to work and I definitely wanted to stay,” he said. “It’s a great place to be with a great spirit, that is why everyone wants to stay.
“The club has been doing really well this year and we have more to improve on. I think eventually we can achieve anything. We know we can beat anyone in the league and who knows, we can be challenging for top four and competing in Challenge Cup finals and maybe even Grand Finals.”
Marsh has impressed in the early stages of this season, and admitted: “I’ve been pleased with the way I’ve been going.”
“With the signings that we’ve brought in it has helped me a little bit because of the competition for places, and that’s brought the best out of me.
“I had a good pre-season and I didn’t have any injuries, so I managed to train all the way through that.
