Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has revealed that he ranks Monday’s 22-14 win against Warrington as one of the best he’s seen since he arrived at the club.
The Tigers inflicted a fourth straight defeat on the Wolves with the victory, which was inspired by hooker Adam Milner and a wonderful performance from half-back Luke Gale.
And Powell was quick to praise the effort from his side after a tough Easter period – insisting that the win was one of the most impressive he’s seen.
“I’ve just said to the boys that I thought in terms of courage, determination and effort that is the best performance since I’ve been at the club,” said Powell.
“Obviously this is the second game over Easter and we’ve had to come away to Warrington having played against Leeds in a really physical game on Friday. What the boys served up today, with less rest time than Warrington, I thought was superb. There were some massive performances within the team and collectively there was a real determination to keep the opposition out.”
