Hull FC coach Lee Radford has admitted that the club have been preparing for tonight’s Challenge Cup quarter-final with Leeds with the mindset that Danny McGuire will play.
McGuire was helped from the field during last Sunday’s meeting of the two sides, with the initial fears that McGuire could have broken his ankle.
However, he has been named in Leeds’ 19-man squad for tonight and revealed on social media that there was no long-term damage – and Radford says he is preparing for the half-back to feature.
“We have been training as if Danny McGuire is playing tonight,” Radford revealed. “I think if he doesn’t play it will have an adverse effect for us.
“When they brought Kevin Sinfield on at Headingley they looked a better side. They looked more dangerous and had more composure with him [Sinfield] in the team.”
