Wakefield snap up Jordan Tansey

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have secured the signing of utility-back Jordan Tansey.

Tansey has signed an 18-month contract from local side Castleford Tigers which will see him at the club until the end of 2016 season.

The 28-year-old started his career at Leeds Rhinos before moving to Australian NRL side Sydney Roosters in 2009. Tansey made a return to the Super League soon after joining up with Hull FC.

He will link up with Brian Smith’s squad alongside new signings Michael Sio and Kevin Locke who have both penned a deal this week. All three will be in contention of being named in the 19-man squad to face Hull FC on Wednesday.

Chairman Michael Carter said, “I am delighted to welcome Jordan Tansey to the club. Jordan will provide a genuine competition across all of our back players.

“I would also like to thank Castleford Tigers and Steve Gill for their corporation in making this move possible. Relations between the two rival clubs off the field have never been better.”
