Reece Lyne expected to return to Wakefield fold

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have confirmed that centre Reece Lyne has been fined for his part in an off the field incident and is now back training with the first team squad.

Lyne, along with Kevin Locke and Tim Smith, were dropped by Wakefield last week as they conducted an internal investigation into a matter in Hull the previous weekend, which led to Smith being charged by Humberside police for driving without due care and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

But whilst Carter said the investigation involving Smith and Locke is still continuing, Lyne is free to play with the squad this weekend as they travel to Sheffield.

“The investigation into Reece has been concluded,” said Wakefield chairman Carter.

“He’s been fined for his part in the incident and he’s back in the squad.

“The other investigation is still ongoing. I was hoping to get it concluded last night but it was not possible.”
