A mix of experience and youth has been assembled for Leeds Rhinos’ trip south of the river on Sunday to face Hunslet in the traditional Leeds Brewery Lazenby Cup clash.
Competition for places in the squad that lines up at Hull KR on the season’s opening day is hotting up.
Grand Final winners Kylie Leuluai and Ryan Bailey start in the pack, as do Brad Singleton, Chris Clarkson and Mitch Achurch.
Liam Sutcliffe again starts at stand-off.
Head coach Brian McDermott said: “Sunday will be a good test for this team. We have got plenty of experience in the forwards and the likes of Ash Handley, Josh Walters and Ben White will be playing their third pre-season game so will be feeling the benefit of that game time.”
