WHITEHAVEN have re-signed forward Rio McQuistan, two months after he chose to step away from the professional game.
McQuistan made 21 appearances in his previous spell but had been managing a chronic injury.
At the time of his departure, Haven said: “Rio is needing to explore treatment through the NHS and with the timescales given to Rio he felt he could not perform at the required level within the Championship week in week out.“
However, McQuistan has since been given further treatment options, enabling him to recommit to Whitehaven.
The back-rower has, in the meantime, been playing for community side Millom in National Conference Cumbria.
He is available for selection this Sunday at home to Keighley Cougars, with James Newton’s side currently 17th in the table with two wins and a draw from twelve games.
