New Salford signing Ollie Roberts believes Ian Watson is the man who can help him rediscover his best form.
The backrower has joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan after falling out of favour at Huddersfield.
Roberts was one of the emerging stars in the 2017 World Cup, with his performances garnering heavy interest from the NRL.
But his rise hasn’t been as rapid as many predicted since then, finding himself in and out of the Huddersfield team.
However, Roberts believes a fresh challenge will help his development.
“I can’t live off what I did three years ago at the World Cup,” Roberts said.
“But that player can’t have just disappeared either. I was named in the team of the round a few times and really I should still be improving at my age and since the World Cup.
“At the beginning of the year I thought it would be a normal season at Huddersfield, I’d earn a spot in the team, but the way things have gone, Salford has come about, it’s a chance to get form back and play regularly under Watto.
“It’s an opportunity that’s done the same for Seb (Ikahihifo) under Ian Watson, so maybe he can do the same for me
“It’s outstanding to know he’s done homework on me and I’m not just a panic pickup; he said he saw something in me he likes and as a coach I’ve only heard good things about him.”
