Castleford Tigers have received a boost, with Daryl Powell naming halfback Ben Roberts and forward Lee Jewitt in his 19-man squad to face Leeds.
Roberts’ return follows a three-game losing streak for the Tigers which started in the game he limped out of against St Helens. Cas were 14-6 up in that game when Roberts went off, losing that game before going down to Salford and Warrington in his absence.
Following those defeats, Powell has laid down the gauntlet for his side going into the Easter period: “We have had a really honest week since the game against Warrington where we let ourselves down badly from minute 1 to minute 80.
“We have worked hard as a team to set high standards in everything we do and having slipped off of those standards, Thursday night is a game we need to see a response to fix some things up and start moving in the right direction.”
