Roby ruled out of Saints’ trip to Salford

St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham has said it’s unlikely that hooker James Roby will be able to get fit in time for Thursday’s trip to Salford.

Roby was taken off during Friday’s win against Huddersfield due to a rib injury, which Cunningham concedes should rule him out of the game at the AJ Bell Stadium.

“I don’t think we have got a hope for this week with it being such a short turnaround,” he told the St Helens Star.

“That is unfortunate, but it just gives someone else a shot.

“There is nothing you can do to progress it – just let his body heal. He is generally a good healer anyway.

“If anyone is going to get a shot in a couple of weeks it will be Robes.”
