CASTLEFORD TIGERS head coach Ryan Carr is ‘hopeful’ Krystian Mapapalangi will be back for his side’s fixture against Wakefield Trinity tomorrow night.
Mapapalangi has missed the last two weeks with a dead leg, pulling up in the warm-up ahead of the Tigers’ loss to Leigh Leopards.
The former Newcastle Knights centre was touch and go for last week’s fixture against Leeds Rhinos, but Carr believes Mapapalangi has a ‘good chance’ of appearing against Wakefield.
“We’re a bit banged up but Krystian is getting healthier,” Carr said.
“He had a dead leg and had to have some fluid drained out of it.
“We are hopeful he will be back so he’s got a good chance.”
On Wakefield, Carr can see them going all the way at the end of the current campaign.
“They are a good team, they have played really well when we have played them.
“They are well drilled and one of the form teams in the competition and are climbing up the ladder.
“Our focus has been trying to be the best version of ourselves this week.
“They’ve done a good job over there in building a squad. They are definitely a contender.”
