Sandercock: We know what to expect from Huddersfield

Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock understands what his side must to do snatch two points from Huddersfield Giants in this afternoon’s round two clash at the John Smiths stadium.

The Australian said: “The fact that we played them a few weeks back probably just reinforces a few things that you believe. They have some strike players there and played extremely well against Wigan the other week so it’s going to be a tough game.

“If our middles can hold their gloves up and control the ruck then that may limit some of the threats that Huddersfield have. Keeping the error count down will put us in good stead and we know that Danny Brough has arguably the best kicking game in Super League. If we turn over the ball too often then at some stage he will punish us.

The Robins are without Mick Weyman (suspension) and David Hodgson (injury), but Sandercock is confident he has enough depth to cover them both.

“We feel as though we have a bit of depth in the forwards and can cover Mick (Weyman) for a couple of weeks. The same applies to the backs as someone will have to step in there and do Dave’s job.”
