Sarginson could miss rest of the season

Wigan Warriors have been dealt a blow with the news that Dan Sarginson could be unavailable for the rest of the season.

The England centre has not featured since suffering a hamstring injury against Leeds in early July.

The Warriors had hoped that he would recover in time for the Play-Offs after undergoing surgery, however Sarginson is thought to still be on crutches and has shown no signs of being available before the end of the season.

It is a further injury blow for head coach Shaun Wane, who could also be without hooker Michael McIlorum for a prolonged period of time after he suffered a serious eye injury on Friday, also against Leeds.

Michael McIlorum could also face time on the sidelines.

The injury occurred when George Williams appeared to accidentally poke his teammate in the eye. He was scheduled to see an eye specialist today.
