Scott Galeano signs new York Knights deal

SCOTT GALEANO has etched a new two-year deal with York Knights.

Already contracted for the 2027 season, the 28-year-old Australian has now committed to a further two years with the Knights, extending his stay at the club until the end of 2029.

After scoring 21 tries in 23 appearances in his first season at the LNER Community Stadium in 2025, Galeano followed that up with a further twelve tries in 25 appearances in 2026.

He got on the scoresheet with a try in the memorable 19-18 win over Hull KR in York’s first ever Super League match and notched a hat-trick in the win against Toulouse in April.

Galeano joined the Knights from Sunshine Coast Falcons, a feeder club for Melbourne Storm, where he played in the Queensland Rugby League Hostplus Cup for three seasons.

“I’m really happy to secure my future with York,” said the outside back.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.”

Meanwhile, York boss Mark Applegarth believes the best is still to come from Galeano, saying: “I think this is a massive statement from the club.

“He can play centre and wing to a very good standard, and he’s got great athletic abilities.

“I think he’s still got his best rugby in front of him and over the next three years I think we’ll see him flourish.”
