Sharp delighted with professional Fev

Featherstone Rovers head coach Jon Sharp paid testament to his side after they clinched the first ever Championship Shield.

Fev cruised to victory over London by a 36-4 scoreline with a team that featured a number of players expected to leave Rovers, including Gareth Moore, who confirmed his departure via Twitter before the game.

“I’m really pleased,” Sharp told BBC Radio Leeds.

“I’m really pleased for the stakeholders in the club, from the chairman who invests heavily into the club to the volunteers who built the stands.

“The press have asked about changes for next year and how Featherstone haven’t announced anything, it’s been down to me and my want for this team to keep working hard for each other.

“We’ve made some really good signings. It’s really important that we respect the blokes that are going. There are quite a few going and quite a few coming in but you wouldn’t have know that today looking at how they played for each other.”
