SHAUN WANE has revealed that Mikey Lewis will play a different role in England’s Third Ashes Test against Australia tomorrow.
Lewis played just 11 minutes in England’s Second Test defeat at Everton, coming off the bench to replace Hull KR teammate Jez Litten.
However, Wane has revealed that he “won’t hesitate” to bring Lewis on earlier during the Third Test, hinting that the 2024 Man of Steel will once more start on the bench.
“I imagine Mikey is going to have more minutes,” Wane said.
“There was a lot of talk about bringing him earlier in game two, but when you look at what he did, I won’t hesitate this week to bring him on earlier.”
Meanwhile, Dom Young will miss Saturday’s clash with a broken foot as Hull KR winger Joe Burgess comes in.
Wane also explained that Wigan Warriors centre Jake Wardle has been playing with a number of issues.
“He has broken a bone in his foot (on Young).
“Jake has had some problems. He’s done well to play in two Tests, he’s been knocked up throughout the season and quite a few players have.
