WILL OAKES has signed a new deal at Sheffield Eagles after a successful short-term spell.

The former Hull KR outside back joined in August, more than three years after his last appearance as a York Knights player.

He signed for both Bradford and Batley Bulldogs in the intervening period without playing a game.

Oakes featured four times in Sheffield’s run-in, scoring one try, and the 26-year-old has now penned a one-year extension with Craig Lingard’s side.
