Smith praises Addy and Clark

Rohan Smith saved praise for Danny Addy and Mitch Clark, after the pair featured in Bradford’s Championship Shield Final triumph over Sheffield.

The pair, who were expected to join Hull Kingston Rovers next season, played just 24 hours after the Robins were relegated, leaving their futures in doubt.

However, both players looked impressive in the Bulls’ victory, as they picked up their first silverware since they won the World Club Challenge in 2006.

“Those guys did a job,” Smith said.

“To play the way they did given how much emotion it will have taken out of them.

“I’m not sure about the status of them as far as their contracts go. I coached Mitch years ago at Penrith and tried to recruit him to the Warriors when I was there. I’ve known Danny for a little bit of time and I’ve got a high opinion of both of those guys so we’ll have to see what happens in the next week or so.”

A full report of Bradford’s victory is in the new League Express.
