Solomona’s homesickness cured at Castleford

Castleford Tigers winger Denny Solomona has revealed that he was suffering from homesickness during his first season in England last year – but moving to Castleford has been the perfect tonic for him.

Solomona has impressed since joining the Tigers from London Broncos, and he told the club’s official website that he had been interested in a move to club before actually joining – and he couldn’t be happier.

“I knew it right from the start that this was the right move for me,” he said.

“As soon as my deal was announced the fans were tweeting me and welcoming me, it’s been pretty good. I was interested in Cas for a while and it’s where I wanted to be. Last year I was really home sick, losing didn’t help, but this year I feel at home.

“The boys are doing really well and I’ve got Junior Moors and Benny Roberts from back home here that makes it easier. It just feels like home here.

Solomona added: “I like that it’s a small town here and everyone knows everyone. We’ve got some great international players here like Millo and Dorny who just give you a tap on the shoulder and ask how you are. Little things like that just make it feel like home.”
