New St Helens signing Atelea Vea has compared the level of intensity and quality in the camp to that of NRL giants Melbourne Storm, as he settles into life at his new club.
Vea has joined the Super League champions from relegated London Broncos, where he made a big impression despite a difficult season for the Broncos on the field. And, having experienced NRL training camps at Cronulla, Melbourne at St George, Vea is in no doubt that the quality in the Saints camp is up there with the very best.
“I have been involved in lots of organisations back in the NRL,” he said.
“It is pretty similar to Melbourne and the content of training is the same but the intensity that the boys bring to training is petty high.
“Here is obviously some pretty healthy competition for spots.”
