Strong ticket sales for Magic Weekend 2014

The First Utility Super League’s two-day spectacular, Magic Weekend is proving a Box Office smash with unprecedented levels of advance sales for the event at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on May 17 and 18.

Over 30,000 tickets have already been snapped up for Magic Weekend, which sees a full round of seven First Utility Super League fixtures played over two days at the home of Manchester City.

Reserved Category 1 tickets in both the East and West Stand on Saturday have already sold out and the Diamond hospitality packages are also fully subscribed for the opening day, which features four matches, including the East Yorkshire derby, Hull Kingston Rovers v Hull FC and the mouth-watering finale, Wigan Warriors v Leeds Rhinos.

“Magic Weekend 2014 really has captured the imagination of not just Rugby League supporters but sports fans and event goers everywhere and this year’s Magic is on course to be very special,” said Super League Marketing Director Mark Foster.

“Ticket sales for Magic Weekend are up over 60 per cent year on year and we are experiencing similar trends with the Tetley’s Challenge Cup final and First Utility Super League Grand Final.

“It’s clear many fans have realised that to guarantee the best seats for the biggest matches in Rugby League you have to purchase early.”
