THE Super League dream is still alive for Oldham, insists chairman Bill Quinn.
The Roughyeds missed out on a place in the top flight, with Toulouse Olympique and York Knights instead chosen by an independent panel chaired by Lord Jonathan Caine.
As such, Oldham remained in the Championship for 2026 and have since won four games and lost two.
However, there have been a number of issues plaguing the Roughyeds so far this year, with managing director Mike Ford leaving the club last month and assistant coach Alan Kilshaw being appointed as number one instead.
Off-field problems with Boundary Park has seen the rugby league side at loggerheads with the football side Oldham Athletic.
As such, the rugby league side has instead played at Bower Fold, home to eighth-tier football club Stalybridge Celtic.
With just a 6,500 capacity, questions have been raised about the long-term viability of playing at Bower Fold, but Quinn insists that the stadium can be brought up to Super League standard.
“We keep adjusting things, we keep changing things and we’ll keep making things better,” Quinn said.
“For the people that keep asking us, ‘is Bower Fold good enough for Super League?’
“No, and neither is Boundary Park, but I can tell you that Bower Fold can be made good enough for Super League.
“There can be bigger car parks made there because I’ve been looking into it, and the dream is not over. We’re moving forward.”
