Tigers sign ten

Castleford Tigers Academy signingsCastleford Tigers have announced that 10 players have signed two-year professional contracts with the club, including seven who were on the Tigers’ Scholarship.
Lee Alderson, a back row/centre joins from his amateur club Stanley Rangers, James Brown, a pivot/full back joins from Lock Lane while Nathanial Callaghan, a centre is from Hunslet Warriors.
Three players have signed from Milford Marlins; Niadh Currie-Clark, a front row, Daniel Sowerby, a pivot and Brandon Douglas who was on the Bradford Bulls Scholarship is a front row/back row.
Back row Brandon Westerman is the cousin of former Castleford Tigers and current Hull FC player Joe Westerman and joins from Castleford Panthers, while hooker Ryan Westerman, who is no relation to either, joins from Stanley Wildcats.
Towering prop Will Maher enjoyed a successful trial period at the club towards the end of the 2013 season and signs from the Cumbria Regional Academy while Brad Day, a second row who has represented England at youth level has signed from Wakefield Wildcats.
