Wakefield coach James Webster says his side was gutsy against St Helens but “dumb” with the ball and weren’t good enough to beat the defending champions.
The Wildcats ran Saints close on their own turf, losing by just four points in a tight affair. A disappointed Webster said after the game that the performance was an improvement after they were pummelled by Widnes but still not good enough.
“It was gutsy, but we made it too hard for overselves and we were dumb,” he said.
