Wakefield snap up Stuart Howarth

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have secured the signing of Stuart Howarth.

The 25 year-old has joined the club on an 18-month contract from Super League Rivals Hull FC, which will see him at Wakefield until the end of 2016.

It will be the second stint at the club for Howarth, who made his debut in the Super League for Wakefield back in 2011. He made 21 appearances before joining Salford Red Devils in 2012.

Howarth said: “I am happy to be back at Wakefield, I was here in 2011 and when I found that there was an opportunity to come back to the club, I jumped at it.

“I was at Hull FC and only played 8 or 9 games, I was offered a lot more game time here and I want to play rugby. So it was the right decision for me to make.”

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter is delighted with the signing of Howarth, saying: “I am delighted to welcome Stuart back to the club, and he had a successful stint here in 2011, and will bring some much needed defensive attribute to our squad.

“He can cover a variety positions for us and will be a valuable member for the remainder of this season and next season.”
