WAKEFIELD TRINITY have agreed a new five-year contract with hooker Harvey Smith.
He’s the third youngster to sign a long-term deal with the club in as many days following Ellis Lingard and Jayden Myers.
Academy product Smith made his debut in the final round of the 2023 season, then played 13 times in Wakefield’s treble-winning Championship campaign.
This year he has featured 20 times and coach Daryl Powell said: “He’s grown into a genuine Super League hooker at a very young age.
“His speed and toughness make him a real threat to defences and he puts his body on the line.
“He is a pleasure to coach and we are confident he will continue to develop and mature over the next few years.”
Smith said: “I am really pleased to re-sign with Wakefield until 2030.
“The club is going in a really good direction and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
