Wales issue clarion call for Under 16s

WALES, who are keen to repeat last year’s success over England when the Under 16s teams meet again at the beginning of September, have issued an open invitation to trials on June.

Ambitious young players will be put through their paces on Saturday 2 June at Ystrad Mynach, near Cardiff, with those who make the biggest impression being invited to return a fortnight later.

The squad will be announced during the week commencing 18 June; the match will be played in Wales, at a venue to be announced, on Saturday 1 September.

All players must have been under the age of 16 on 1 September 2017, be of current school year 10 or 11 in 2018, and must have been born in Wales, or resided in the country for at least three years, or have a Welsh parent or grandparent.

Full details, including name, date of birth, qualifying criteria, school, club, preferred position(s), email address and contact number, and parents’ name(s), email address(es) and contact number(s), should be sent to Rob.Davies@WalesRugbyLeague.co.uk, and to peter.tiffin@walesrugbyleague.co.uk, before 5.00pm on Wednesday 30 May.
