They’re renowned for blooding high-class youngsters, and Shaun Wane has told Wigan fans to expect more of the same next season.
Oliver Gildart was the latest player to work his way through the academy ranks at the Warriors before donning the famous cherry and white shirt in the first-team last year.
And Wane insists more stars of the future will get their opportunity this year, predicting that three players will make their debut this year.
“I’m very happy with the young kids who’ve come into the first-team and I can see three of them making a debut this season,” Wane told Wigan Today.
“They’ve settled in well, they’ve all got good attitudes and I’m happy with where they are at.
“We’ve had a couple of blips, which you’d expect, because you can’t have a minute off in our sessions.
“If you do you get burned, and they’ve been through all that.
“But they’ve responded well and they’ve come to understand what being here is about.”
Nick Gregson, Jake Shorrocks, Joe Bretherton, Jack Higginson, Gabriel Fell and Luke Waterworth have all been handed squad numbers ahead of 2016 but have yet to play senior Rugby League.
