Wane unhappy with Wigan consistency

Wigan Warriors coach, Shaun Wane has insisted his team must beef up their consistency, ahead of Thursday night’s showdown with Leeds Rhinos, at the DW Stadium.

Wigan will face Leeds tomorrow night, bidding to back up their impressive win against them at the end of May, during the Magic Weekend.  A win tomorrow would move his side into second place on the Super League ladder.

Wane – who singled out Leeds as the best team in Super League – says he is hoping for a repeat dose of their Newcastle success, but has pointed out that Wigan’s inconsistency is a frustrating factor for him.

“Leeds are the best team in the competition so training is a little bit more intense this week, but the lads are ready for it.  They have trained really well and they know it is going to be a huge game for us,” he told Sky Sports.

“Recently we have been inconsistent, I am not happy with the way we are playing.  We have done some good things in games and we have also done some poor things at certain times.  I just want us to find that consistency in our performance.

“We turned up for that Magic Weekend victory against Leeds so I am hoping for that same attitude this week.”
