Warrington sent out their most emphatic statement yet as they comfortably dispatched of Wigan 40-10.
The two teams were level on points at the top of Super League ahead of this contest, but Warrington were the superior team on the night as they outplayed their visitors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium
Although Wigan took the lead through Josh Charnley, Tony Smith’s side entered half-time with an 18-4 lead thanks to tries through the impressive Daryl Clark, Ben Westwood and Kevin Penny.
Warrington remained on the front foot and sealed the match early in the second-half. A brace of tries through Ryan Atkins and one from Benjamin Jullien gave Warrington an emphatic lead, and although John Bateman scored for Wigan, Westwood’s second try added emphasis to the scoreline.
A two-page report of the match will be in Monday’s League Express.
