Warrington Wolves sign experienced Wigan Warriors hooker

WARRINGTON WOLVES have signed Abbie Singleton from Wigan Warriors ahead of the new season.

The hooker, who made her debut in 2022, scored two tries in eleven appearances for Wigan in last season, but is now looking forward to a new challenge with the Wolves.

“I am really excited to sign for Warrington and really enjoy the club ethos here,” said Singleton.

“Across the first team, women’s team and the academy, the ethos is the same and there is a real one-club mentality here.

“I have been coached by Ged (Ginty, coach) previously and I think he’s great. He does a lot to bring girls on in their game.

“There are a few girls who have come from a union background but we’ve all gelled and bonded really well.”

Ginty is excited to bring Singleton on board, saying: “Abbie has played Super League and Challenge Cup so she will bring a lot of experience into our team.

“She will compliment Dani (Bound), our other hooker, really well so she is a great acquisition to get.”

Singleton has also been joined at the Wolves by Sydney Alderman-Smith and Amber Harmon, who have signed from the Academy systems at Wigan and St Helens respectively.
