Ian Watson could not contain his delight after Salford Red Devils beat Catalans.
With Iestyn Harris reportedly suffering from illness, Watson took charge and helped Salford to just their second win in twelve outings. In so doing, he helped to keep intact the team’s slim chance of making the Super League top eight.
“I am really pleased with how we came through the game at the end,” said Watson. “We started quite tentatively so I’m very pleased with how we came through.”
“It has been an interesting week, with so much going on off-field, but we spoke earlier in the week about not letting things that are out of our control distract us. We need to control what we can control, and maintain a positive mindset going forward.”
