We wanted to knock Leigh off their perch, says Bradford winger

Bradford Bulls winger Danny Williams has warned their Championship rivals that they are getting better as the weeks go on – and has warned Leigh Centurions that they are hunting them down.

Leigh and Bradford are only split at the top of the table by just five points following Leigh’s shock loss to London on Sunday, with Bradford’s heavy win at home to Doncaster reducing the points difference significantly.

And Williams admitted that Bradford wanted to be the team that “knocked Leigh off their perch”, but says it sets up the penultimate game of the season at Odsal fantastically.

“It was good that London beat Leigh, but deep down we wanted to beat them ourselves,” he told the Telegraph and Argus.

“We wanted to be the team to knock them off their perch but it will just make the game here at Odsal more interesting.

“We’ve always had confidence in ourselves and I think beating Doncaster so heavily showed we are a good team.

“We’re always improving and we just need to keep getting better every week.”
