Westwood wants England swansong in 2015

Warrington Wolves stalwart Ben Westwood has admitted he wants one last crack at playing for England in 2015 during the end-of-season series against New Zealand.

Westwood told the Warrington Guardian that had he played during the Four Nations last year, he would have called it a day at international level.

However, the fact he didn’t play during that tournament means he wants to go round one more time, and says he’s putting his hand up for the national side if the call comes from Steve McNamara.

“Hopefully I’ll play well enough to get that nod and give it one last bash,” Westwood told the Warrington Guardian.

“I was planning on retiring after last year if I had played Down Under, but I’ll give it one more year and if Steve still wants me involved I’ll put my hand up for selection.

“Hopefully I’ll have one more crack at internationals at the end of the year.”
