Wheelchair international cancelled

Saturday’s Wheelchair Rugby League clash between Scotland and Wales at Edinburgh is off.

Wales have been forced to pull out because of injury and illness, with Stephen Halsey breaking a tendon in his finger, Alan Caron slipping a disc and two others being unwell and unable to travel, while Gary Preece was an earlier withdrawal for family reasons.

The game had been arranged after September’s scheduled Four Nations tournament didn’t take place; the two squads were to have been guests of honour at Friday’s European Championship qualifier between Scotland and Wales’ full international `running Rugby League’ sides at Gala.
