Wigan confirm Dom Manfredi to wear famous #5 shirt

Wigan Warriors have confirmed that young winger Dominic Manfredi will be the next man to wear the club’s famous number five shirt in 2016.

The shirt, which has been worn by some of the most famous names in Rugby League history – including the great Martin Offiah – will be passed onto Manfredi after Joe Burgess vacated the shirt to move to the NRL.

Manfredi, who spent time out on loan at Salford earlier in the year, enjoyed a sensational year with Wigan in 2015, playing a key role in their run to the Grand Final and edging out Josh Charnley as one of the club’s mainstays on the wing alongside Burgess.

He will now form a wing pairing with Charnley next year after Burgess’ departure.
