Wigan handed double boost ahead of Super 8s run-in

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has confirmed he has been given a huge boost ahead of the remainder of their Super 8s campaign with the news that key forwards Tony Clubb and Sean O’Loughlin will return to action next week.

O’Loughlin hasn’t played for the last two games – but Clubb has been out for even longer, having missed three months of action due to injury.

But Wane told Wigan Today that he expects to be able to draft both men into his squad for next weekend’s game against Widnes, following the break for the Challenge Cup final.

“It’s going to be great to have those two players coming back in,” he said.

“One area we do need to be stronger in is the middles, and Clubby and Lockers will improve us.

“Obviously Clubby has not played in a while but he has been training really hard and I’ve no doubts he’ll be ready to go.”

The Warriors host the Vikings in a crucial Super 8s game next Thursday in front of the Sky cameras.
