Wigan Warriors youngster signs for North Wales Crusaders

NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have agreed a permanent contract with young back Tom Bridge following a trial over pre-season.

Bridge, 19, joined the club from Wigan Warriors’ academy, having played junior rugby at St Judes, St Cuthbert’s and Orrell St James.

He played in Sunday’s 30-6 friendly win over Swinton Lions and has earned his first professional deal.

“I’m really happy to sign Tom. He’s a quality young player who suits our systems,” said North Wales coach Dean Muir.

“It’s an exciting time for him and I’m looking forward to see him develop.

“Tom showed up well against Swinton. His yardage carries are effective getting us a quick play-the-ball. Defensively he looked sharp and able to defend at centre and on the wing.”

Bridge takes North Wales’ tally of new recruits up to 11.
