Williams expecting tough test from Castleford

Wigan Warriors half-back George Williams has insisted Friday’s showdown with Castleford will not be a walkover – and says he’s expecting an extremely tough test from the Tigers.

Wigan can clinch the League Leader’s Shield if they beat the Tigers and Leeds slip up at Huddersfield, but Williams has warned against how tough it will be to beat Daryl Powell’s Castleford, who stunned the Rhinos last week at Headingley with a marvellous performance.

“Cas have been playing really well recently, they went to Headingley last week and turned Leeds over so we are expecting a really tough game,” he told the club’s official website.

“We will have to play to our best to get the two points.

“Training has been light this week because it was a tough game last weekend and there have been some sore bodies but we are going to watch what Castleford have been doing so we will be ready for Friday.

“All we have to do now is build up some momentum, try and beat Castleford on Friday and then hopefully go into the semi-finals in good form and on the back of a good win.”
