WOOLSTON ROVERS, who were never behind, built on a tenuous 20-10 lead midway through the second period to beat THORNHILL TROJANS 44-10.
The Warrington side booked a BARLA National Cup quarter-final tie at the winners of Saturday’s clash between Featherstone Lions and Bentley with hat-trick hero Ben Harrison’s closing two tries – the last scored despite the sinbinning of Matt Lightfoot for kicking the ball away – and touchdowns for Jake Rogerson and Callum Smy.
Ryan Brown booted all four conversions in a six-goal tally.
Jacob Proudlove, Ethan Jones and Sean Kelly had opened for Rovers, while Sam Ratcliffe and Zak Haigh replied for Thornhill, Ratcliffe improving his own effort.
